Bookmakers USDT
USDT is the dollar stablecoin issued by Tether: one token is meant to be worth one dollar, so you can hold crypto with a fixed dollar value. Here is what a transfer costs on each network, how fast it arrives, where it works and which bookmakers take it: 11 of the 65 reviewed on Betandlink.

What is USDT?
USDT is a stablecoin: a token issued by Tether, pegged one-to-one to the US dollar and, according to the issuer, backed in full by its reserves. Tether creates new tokens when verified customers buy them and takes them back when those customers redeem them for dollars, so the supply follows demand. For a bettor it works like a dollar balance that lives on a blockchain: you send it to the bookmaker’s deposit address instead of typing card details, and a payout comes back to an address of your own.
Tether launched the token in 2014 on the Bitcoin blockchain, through the Omni Layer. Today it is issued on thirteen networks, among them Tron, Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, TON and Polkadot, while the original Omni version, EOS and Algorand have been deprecated. The two that matter at bookmakers are Tron (TRC-20) and Ethereum (ERC-20): on 19 October 2026 tronscan.org showed 89.3 billion USDT on Tron and etherscan.io 88.3 billion on Ethereum, held by 74.5 million and 15.3 million addresses.
The issuer is Tether International, S.A. de C.V., which moved its domicile from the British Virgin Islands to El Salvador, where it is authorised as a stablecoin issuer by the National Commission of Digital Assets. Its reserves are attested each quarter by BDO: on 30 June 2026 it reported assets of 187.75 billion dollars against 183.64 billion of liabilities, of which 183.62 billion were tokens in circulation. Unlike bitcoin, USDT has an issuer that can freeze tokens: in April 2026 Tether froze 344 million USDT on two addresses in coordination with US authorities.
How to get USDT
- Get a wallet. Either a self-custody wallet, where you keep the keys and the recovery phrase, or an account at an exchange, which keeps the keys for you. Check that it supports the network you will use: a Tron address starts with T, an Ethereum address with 0x, and the two are not interchangeable.
- Buy USDT on an exchange. You pay by bank transfer or card; the exchange charges a trading fee and, if you pay in euros or pounds, applies its own rate against the dollar. Most exchanges ask for an ID document before they let you withdraw to an outside address.
- Choose USDT and the network in the cashier. The bookmaker shows a deposit address and a QR code that are valid only for the network you picked. Copy the address from the page each time, not from an old transaction.
- Send from the wallet or exchange on the same network. The fee is paid in the coin of the network, TRX on Tron and ETH on Ethereum, so a self-custody wallet needs a little of it besides the USDT. A transfer sent on a network the cashier does not list may be lost; recovery, when it is possible at all, is charged for. If the cashier shows a memo or tag field, fill it in exactly.
- Test with a small amount, then send the rest. The deposit is credited once the network has confirmed it: about a minute on Tron, a few minutes to a quarter of an hour on Ethereum. For a withdrawal, paste your own address on the same network and keep the transaction hash to follow it on the block explorer.
What it costs
Between you and the bookmaker there is usually no fee: Tether charges nothing on transfers, and most bookmakers take USDT deposits and withdrawals free of charge, though some deduct a fixed amount from payouts to cover the network fee, so check the cashier. The real cost is the network fee, and it depends on the network you choose.
Tron charges in two resources, bandwidth and energy. Every account gets 600 bytes of bandwidth a day for free and a USDT transfer uses 345; energy has no free quota, so you either stake TRX to earn it or burn TRX at 100 sun (0.0001 TRX) a unit. The USDT transfers read on tronscan.org on 19 October 2026 used 64,285 energy each, 49,635 of it a penalty the network adds to very busy contracts: a wallet with no staked TRX burns about 6.43 TRX for energy plus 0.345 TRX for bandwidth once the free quota is used up, about 6.8 TRX or 2.24 dollars at the 0.33-dollar price tronscan.org showed that day. Ethereum charges gas: the units used multiplied by the base fee set by the protocol plus the tip the wallet adds, and the base fee is burned. A USDT transfer uses 41,000 to 46,000 gas; on 19 October 2026 the etherscan.io gas tracker showed a base fee of 0.041 gwei with ether at 2,434 dollars, which puts a transfer under a cent, while the USDT transfers confirmed the evening before had paid between 0.02 and 0.15 dollars, with a base fee of 0.15 gwei and tips of up to 1.2 gwei added by their wallets.
USDT costs by network and service
| Operation | Fee |
|---|---|
| Deposit at a bookmaker | Usually free; check the cashier |
| Withdrawal from a bookmaker | Usually free; some deduct the network fee |
| Network fee on Tron (TRC-20) | about 6.8 TRX, 2.24 dollars on 19 October 2026, when paid in TRX; nothing from a wallet with staked energy |
| Network fee on Ethereum (ERC-20) | 0.02 to 0.15 dollars in the transfers read on 18 and 19 October 2026 |
| Network fee on Solana, TON, Avalanche and the others | set by each network; the wallet quotes it before you confirm |
| Exchange trading fee | a percentage set by the exchange; Tether publishes none |
| Exchange withdrawal fee | a fixed amount per network, set by the exchange |
| Buying with euros or pounds | the exchange’s rate against the dollar, paid on the way in and on the way out |
| Peg | 1 USDT = 1 USD at issuance and redemption with Tether; the price on exchanges can differ slightly |
| Redeeming directly with Tether | 0.1%, minimum 1,000 dollars, on redemptions of at least 100,000 dollars; 0.1% to acquire; 150 dollars to verify |
Network fees read on 19 October 2026 on the gas tracker and recent USDT transfers of etherscan.io and on the chain parameters and recent USDT transfers of tronscan.org; Tether’s own fees read the same day on the fee page of tether.to. Gas prices change by the minute: look at the explorer or at the wallet’s estimate before you send.
Choose the network before you choose the amount
On 19 October 2026 the same transfer cost about 2.24 dollars on Tron, when the energy was paid in TRX, and between 2 and 15 cents on Ethereum. The order swaps when Ethereum is busy, so compare the fee your wallet quotes for each network the cashier accepts and pick the lowest; a wallet that has staked TRX pays nothing for energy on Tron. Never pick a network the cashier does not list to save a few cents.
Deposit and withdrawal times
Tron produces a block every 3 seconds, and a block is solid, that is no longer reversible, once 19 of the 27 block producers have built on top of it: about a minute in normal conditions. Ethereum has a 12-second slot and reaches finality after two epochs of 32 slots, about 13 minutes; most bookmakers credit an ERC-20 deposit after a set number of blocks rather than waiting for finality, and the cashier states that number. A deposit shown as pending has been broadcast but has not yet collected the confirmations the bookmaker wants; on Ethereum a transfer sent with a fee below the base fee waits until the fee is enough, and the wallet can resend it with a higher one.
Withdrawals wait for the bookmaker’s approval, from a few minutes to a couple of days depending on the operator and on whether your betting account is verified. Once the bookmaker broadcasts the transaction, the USDT reaches your address within minutes, and you can follow it on tronscan.org or etherscan.io with the transaction hash the cashier gives you.
Where you can use it
USDT itself has no country: anyone with a wallet can hold it. What changes from place to place is whether a bookmaker may take it and whether you can buy it. Three rules matter for many readers.
- Australia. Since 11 June 2024 online wagering providers may not accept credit cards, credit-linked wallets or digital currencies, cryptocurrency included. A bookmaker licensed in Australia cannot take USDT.
- United Kingdom. The Gambling Commission lets a licensee accept digital currency only if it shows it can meet its anti-money-laundering duties and act responsibly, and it must notify the Commission and review its risk assessment before adding the method. A site licensed in Britain that takes USDT has gone through that process.
- European Union. Under MiCA, ESMA told exchanges serving EU clients to stop offering stablecoins whose issuer is not authorised in the EU by the end of January 2025, with sell-only services allowed until the end of March 2025. If your exchange is in the EU, check that it still lets you buy USDT before you plan a deposit.
Elsewhere, the rules of the bookmaker’s licence apply, and the licence is named in the Betandlink review of each site.
USDT and welcome bonuses
Check the bonus terms first
Crypto bookmakers often run a separate welcome offer for deposits in USDT, with its own minimum deposit, its own cap and its own wagering requirement, and some offers pay less or nothing on a crypto deposit. Read the payment clause of the bonus terms before you send anything, and check whether the bonus is paid in USDT or in the currency of the betting account.

Questions and answers
Which network should I use to send USDT to a bookmaker?
One the cashier lists, and among those the one with the lowest fee quoted by your wallet. On 19 October 2026 a transfer cost about 2.24 dollars on Tron when the energy was paid in TRX and between 2 and 15 cents on Ethereum. Sending on a network the cashier does not list means the money may be lost.
How long does a USDT deposit take?
On Tron a block comes every 3 seconds and is solid after about a minute; on Ethereum a slot lasts 12 seconds and a block is final after about 13 minutes, though most bookmakers credit the deposit after a set number of blocks. A deposit marked pending has not yet collected the confirmations the bookmaker wants.
Is USDT really worth one dollar?
Tether issues and redeems it at one dollar and reports reserves above the tokens in circulation: 187.75 billion dollars of assets against 183.64 billion of liabilities on 30 June 2026, attested by BDO. On exchanges the price can differ slightly from one dollar, and if you buy with euros or pounds you pay the exchange’s rate twice, in and out.
Can I use USDT at a bookmaker in my country?
In Australia online bookmakers may not accept digital currencies since 11 June 2024. In the United Kingdom a licensee may take digital currency only after showing the Gambling Commission it can meet its anti-money-laundering duties. In the EU, ESMA told exchanges to stop offering stablecoins whose issuer is not authorised under MiCA from early 2025, so check that your exchange still sells USDT.
What does a USDT withdrawal from a bookmaker cost?
Most bookmakers pay out USDT without a fee of their own; some deduct a fixed amount for the network fee, shown in the cashier before you confirm. Once the operator has approved the withdrawal and broadcast it, the tokens reach your address within minutes.
