What is CashtoCode?
CashtoCode is a cash deposit service run by Funanga, a payment company in Berlin. It comes in two forms. With the cash barcode you choose CashtoCode in the bookmaker’s cashier, type the amount, and the cashier shows a barcode that you pay in cash at a shop; the deposit is on your betting account the moment the shop scans it. With the eVoucher you buy a fixed-value code online and type it into the cashier. In both cases the bookmaker never sees a card or a bank account, and you register nowhere.
Funanga was founded in 2013 and counts about 550,000 shops where a barcode can be paid: kiosks, tobacconists, petrol stations and supermarkets, PayPoint counters in the United Kingdom, the Payzone network in Ireland, the epay terminals of BP, Shell, Coles and Woolworths in Australia. The system is a closed loop: a code is created for one customer the bookmaker has verified and cannot be passed to anyone else. In the EU the Bank of Lithuania lists Funanga AG as a distributor and redeemer of electronic money issued by two Malta institutions, MiFinity Malta Limited since 24 April 2024 and Calida Financial Limited since 12 September 2025, and Funanga is one of the four companies of The Payments Group with Calida, which holds an e-money licence from the Malta regulator.
Bettors use it for the reasons cash is used anywhere: nothing is linked to a bank statement, the amount is exactly what was paid, and it works for people who have no card or do not want to use one online. The limit is the other direction. CashtoCode only sends money, so the bookmaker pays winnings by bank transfer or to an e-wallet in your name.
How to get a CashtoCode deposit
- See which form the cashier offers. Bookmakers list the method as “CashtoCode” or “CashtoCode eVoucher”. The cash barcode is created in the cashier and paid at a shop in the countries where Funanga has a retail network: Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, Italy, Ireland, Nigeria and Australia in its announcements. The eVoucher is bought online and has no country list; Pinnacle took it for its customers worldwide in September 2021.
- Cash barcode: set the amount yourself. Choose CashtoCode in the cashier, type what you want to deposit (Funanga publishes no minimum or maximum and says only that the amount must stay within the legal limits) and save or print the barcode. It stays valid for 7 days, and you pay nothing until you hand over the cash.
- Find a shop and pay. The store finder on cashtocode.de shows the nearest counters. Show the barcode, pay the amount in cash and keep the receipt. Some shops have a daily cap on prepaid payments; if you hit it, Funanga’s advice is to walk to the next one. A photo ID is asked for only where the law requires it.
- eVoucher: buy the code where the cashier sends you. Funanga says the codes are sold by “large international online platforms” but does not list them on its own site, so start from the CashtoCode option in the cashier rather than from a search engine. The voucher has a fixed value and one use: type the code in the cashier and the deposit is credited at once to the account that redeems it.
- Arrange the way out before you need it. No payout can go to CashtoCode. Add a bank account or an e-wallet in your name to the betting account and verify it, so that the first withdrawal is not held up by document checks.
What it costs
Funanga publishes no fee page for the bettor. Its own pages say that the app and its basic functions are free, that the shop credits the amount you pay, and that buying a voucher is a contract between you and its issuer, not with Funanga; there is no price list for the eVoucher, the price is the one the reseller shows at checkout. Bookmakers rarely add a fee on CashtoCode deposits. The table lists what is published and what is not.
What a CashtoCode deposit costs
| Operation | Fee |
|---|---|
| Bookmaker fee on the deposit | 0% at most bookmakers; the cashier shows any fee before you confirm |
| Create a cash barcode in the cashier | No fee published; you pay nothing until the shop takes the cash |
| CashtoCode app and its basic functions | Free |
| Pay the barcode in cash at the shop | The amount on the barcode; no shop fee is published by Funanga |
| Barcode not paid within 7 days | It expires; nothing is charged, create a new one |
| Buy an eVoucher from a reseller | The price the reseller shows at checkout; Funanga publishes no price list |
| Redeem an eVoucher at the bookmaker | No fee published by Funanga; the whole value goes on the betting account |
| Deposit in another currency | Converted by the bookmaker at its own rate, as for any deposit in a foreign currency |
| Inactivity or maintenance | None published; a barcode is paid or expires, an eVoucher is a single code |
| Withdrawal | Not through CashtoCode: the bookmaker pays by bank transfer or e-wallet, usually free |
Read on 19 October 2026 on cashtocode.de (guide, sales points, help and the terms dated 30 October 2017) and on funanga.com. Funanga publishes no fee, minimum, maximum or expiry for the eVoucher; the reseller’s checkout is the only price you will see. The domain cashtocode.com calls itself an independent information portal and is not the provider, so nothing on this page is taken from it.
Pay the exact amount, in the currency of the account
With the cash barcode you choose the sum, so deposit what you mean to play with and nothing more: it cannot come back the same way. With the eVoucher buy it in the currency of your betting account, because a code in another currency is converted at the bookmaker’s rate, and keep the reseller’s receipt until the deposit shows.
Deposit and withdrawal times
Deposits are instant. A cash barcode is credited the moment the shop scans it and takes the money; Funanga’s guide says the balance is available right after the scan, and you have 7 days to pay the barcode before it expires. An eVoucher is credited as soon as you type the code in the cashier. The deposit counts on the betting account from that moment, with no bank posting in between.
Withdrawals cannot go to CashtoCode, because it only sends money. The bookmaker pays winnings by bank transfer or to an e-wallet, and will normally require the account to be in your name and verified before the first payout. Count the bookmaker’s approval time plus the days the bank or the wallet takes to post the transfer.
Where you can use it
Funanga publishes no country list. On 19 October 2026 its own site and announcements named seven countries with a retail network for the cash barcode: Germany and Austria, its two core markets, the United Kingdom through PayPoint, Italy, Ireland through Payzone since 12 May 2021, Nigeria through the ServPoint agents of Globasure since 5 May 2021, and Australia through epay since 23 September 2021. The eVoucher is sold online with no country list; Funanga describes it as popular where cards fail, in Latin America and Asia. Whether a bookmaker offers either form depends on its licence, so the method appears in some cashiers and not in others. Four rules touch it.
- Germany. The gambling regulator GGL says deposits at licensed operators may only come from a payment account in the player’s name, that anonymous vouchers, cash payments and other money transfers are therefore excluded, and that deposits are capped at €1,000 a month across all operators. A CashtoCode barcode is created inside the bookmaker’s cashier for one verified account, which is the point of Funanga’s closed loop; whether a German-licensed bookmaker offers it is shown in its cashier.
- United Kingdom. Credit cards have been banned for gambling since 14 April 2020, and e-wallets must not be loaded from one. The Gambling Commission’s page says nothing about cash or vouchers; cash paid at a PayPoint counter is not credit.
- Australia. Since 11 June 2024 betting sites may not accept credit cards, “funds linked to a credit card (including digital wallets)” or digital currency. The regulator’s page does not mention cash deposits made in a shop.
- European Union. The Bank of Lithuania’s register lists Funanga AG as a distributor of e-money issued by MiFinity Malta Limited and Calida Financial Limited, with services notified in 30 member states without a branch, so in the EU the value you buy is electronic money of a licensed issuer.
If no shop near you takes the barcode, the eVoucher is the form to look for; if the cashier offers neither, the bookmaker’s Betandlink review lists the other methods it takes.
CashtoCode and welcome bonuses
Check the bonus terms first
Most welcome offers accept a voucher deposit, and bookmakers have built promotions on CashtoCode: KKPoker gave a $99.99 package for a $100 eVoucher deposit in 2021. Some terms, though, exclude prepaid and voucher methods from the first-deposit offer, and every bookmaker pays the bonus winnings by another method, so the bank account or e-wallet you withdraw to must be in your name. Read the payment clause before the first deposit, and if vouchers are excluded make that deposit by card or bank transfer and use CashtoCode from the second one.

Questions and answers
Is CashtoCode free to use with bookmakers?
Funanga publishes no fee for the bettor: the app is free, the shop credits the amount you pay, and most bookmakers add nothing. An eVoucher costs what the reseller shows at checkout, and a deposit in a currency other than that of your betting account is converted at the bookmaker’s rate.
Can I withdraw my winnings to CashtoCode?
No. CashtoCode only sends money, so the bookmaker pays winnings by bank transfer or to an e-wallet in your name. Verify that account before you need it; the wait is the bookmaker’s approval time plus the days the bank or the wallet takes.
Where do I pay a CashtoCode barcode in cash?
At one of about 550,000 counters: kiosks, tobacconists, petrol stations and supermarkets in Germany and Austria, PayPoint shops in the United Kingdom, Payzone agents in Ireland, ServPoint agents in Nigeria and the epay terminals of BP, Shell, Coles and Woolworths in Australia. The store finder on cashtocode.de shows the nearest one, and the barcode is valid for 7 days.
Do I need an account or an ID check?
No account: Funanga says registration is not part of the process and asks for no bank or card details. At the shop a photo ID is required only where the law says so. The bookmaker, on the other hand, verifies your identity as it does for any deposit, and the code can only be redeemed on the account it was created for.
Which is the official CashtoCode site?
The provider is Funanga AG of Berlin, whose sites are funanga.com and cashtocode.de, where the help page gives the e-mail support@cashtocode.de and phone lines for Germany and Austria open every day from 6 am to 10 pm. The domain cashtocode.com describes itself as an independent information portal, not the payment provider.
